What "Verified" Means
A verified result is backed by qualifying pricing evidence that meets AfriRate's verification and freshness requirements. Other observations may still be useful for comparison where appropriate, but they are not allowed to win the verified ranking unless they satisfy those requirements.
How We Identify the Best Verified Deal
The highest exchange rate is not automatically the best overall deal. AfriRate's Best Verified Deal uses qualifying fresh evidence and compares recipient value using the pricing components required for a verified all-in comparison, including fee evidence where applicable.
This is why AfriRate distinguishes between a strong headline exchange rate and a verified all-in comparison. A provider can have the highest headline rate without necessarily producing the strongest qualifying overall result.
How We Treat Transfer Fees
A zero fee and an unknown fee are not the same thing. AfriRate only treats a separately stated transfer fee as zero when the available pricing evidence supports that value.
If a fee is not separately stated or cannot be established from the available evidence, we identify it accordingly rather than assuming the transfer is free. A quote without the required fee evidence is not eligible to win the verified all-in ranking.
Headline Rate vs. Overall Deal
AfriRate can identify the highest verified headline exchange rate separately from the Best Verified Deal. Keeping these measurements separate helps users avoid assuming that the largest displayed exchange-rate number must always provide the best transfer value.
Freshness and Observation Time
AfriRate records when pricing evidence was observed and collected. Freshness matters because money-transfer prices can change after a quote has been captured.
Where freshness information is available, AfriRate uses it when deciding whether evidence can participate in a verified ranking. The observation time tells you when AfriRate saw the pricing evidence; it is not a guarantee that the provider still offers exactly the same quote later.
Why Your Final Quote May Differ
A provider's final quote can depend on factors such as the amount being sent, payment method, payout method, destination, promotions, account eligibility and pricing changes made after AfriRate observed the quote.
AfriRate is a comparison service and does not process the money transfer itself. Always review the provider's final exchange rate, fee, recipient amount and transfer terms before confirming a payment.
