About AfriRate airtime top-ups
AfriRate lets customers in the UK send mobile airtime to family and friends in supported African destinations. Choose the destination, enter the recipient's mobile number, select the recipient's network, and enter the amount you want to send before continuing to secure payment.
How it works
- Select the recipient's destination country.
- Enter the recipient's mobile number.
- Select the mobile network used by the recipient.
- Enter the airtime amount in GBP.
- Continue to secure payment and complete the order.
Supported destinations and networks
The airtime service currently provides options for Nigeria, Ghana, Kenya, Uganda and Tanzania. Available mobile networks depend on the destination selected.

Before paying, check that the destination, mobile number and network are correct. These details determine where the airtime order is sent.
Airtime and mobile data are different
Airtime provides mobile credit that can be used according to the recipient's network and local service terms. Mobile data bundles are separate products with their own bundle sizes, prices and validity. If the recipient specifically needs internet data, consider the AfriRate mobile data service.
